About TAM
Tattoo Artist Magazine was founded by Chris “Crash” Midkiff in 2003 and was the first tattoo magazine dedicated to professional tattoo artists. From 2003 until 2018 TAM was known throughout the tattoo community as being a no bullshit publication.
TAM is the only publication created by a tattoo artist, specifically for tattoo culture/artists and their international community. The magazine features only the world’s best tattooers and for that reason TAM is held in highest esteem among the tattoo community.
Our Mission in 2026
The magazine’s goal is to make a spectacular comeback in 2026 and once again present the professional tattoo community with a body of work online that reflects and respects its traditions and artists. Tattooers featured in the magazine regularly interview other tattooers and artists they believe can help inspire or educate the community.
By including in-depth interviews on legends, fresh talent and the things they care about, TAM continues to entertain, educate and inspire the professional tattoo community.
Why Online Only?
The decline of print magazines is a significant trend, largely driven by the rise of digital media and changing consumer habits. TAM now offers you a convenient and accessible way to consume TAM and its content. Don`t worry though… TAM will publish a hard copy annually just in time for Christmas with a review of the past year.
Help Wanted
Blog/Social Media Support Personnel: Must have working knowledge of WordPress. Writing background and samples a must. Knowledge of the top talent in the tattoo industry, both U.S. and abroad preferred, but not required. This is a work from home position and open to anyone
Graphic Design Assistant: Must be proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator, excellent time management skills a must. This is a work from home position and open to anyone
Ad Sales Team Members: Must have 5+ years of outside sales experience and possess excellent time management skills. This position is commission based and open to anyone
Videographer: Needed to edit video from the TAM archives, possible travel to conventions, art openings, etc to shoot video. Samples a must.
Application Developer: for iPad, iPod and Droid apps. Send samples of work along with resume..

Wanted Guest Bloggers!
Bloggers: Must be a tattooer and be able to commit to one blog post per month. Writing background a plus, but not required. Samples a must. Bloggers can be located anywhere.
