These vintage flash sheets are from Ted’s days working the carnivals and state fairs in Iowa, 1970‘s.

Ted opened the first tattoo studio in Iowa, located in Des Moines,Iowa, a real pioneer of the time.

Ted Nelson was a tattooer also at Lake of the Ozarks for 28 years, known as Tattoo Ted. He had a career of 50 years tattooing all over the US.

He was a talented guitar and drum player and played for Loretta Lynn for a time.

He loved motorcycles and show cars and even raced sprint cars.

*Pictured here is his traveling trunk where he kept tattoo flash sheets and tattooing equipment.
